2017 Green Bay Packers

Starting with my Fearless Forecast and all the way to Super Bowl LI in Minneapolis, I'm following the Green Bay Packers game by game from the easy chair in my living room.

I predicted 12 - 4 at season's end.  Let's see how the guys in Titletown fare this season; thanks for following along the green and gold trail.

Before the games begin, I need to make sure to be personally ready for every Game Day.

Game 1 home playing Seattle  WIN

Game 2 in Atlanta tough sledding.  1 - 1

Game 3 back home to play Cincinnati  WIN  2 - 1

Game 4 home on a short week against da Bears  WIN

First Quarter Season record 3 - 1

Game 5 produces a satisfying win over the Dallas Cowboys   WIN  4 - 1

The season likely turned course in one collision and a Game 6 loss to the rival Vikings  4 - 2

Fans hoped for good things with a new quarterback debuting at home in Game 7, but the Saints didn't seem concerned.   4 - 3

After a bye, waiting on the Lions to enter the Packer's den.

Before the game and even during Green Bay's first drive my hopes were high.  Then dashed as the Lions left town with a win.  4 - 4

Second Quarter record 1 - 3

After a rough patch caused primarily by the serious injury to the quarterback, Green Bay finally gets a win against Chicago.   5 - 4

Easily the worst loss of the season so far, a lost and confused offense couldn't find the end zone against Baltimore.   5 - 5

The Packers needed to play better, and they did... it just wasn't enough to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, putting the play-offs in serious jeopardy.    5 - 6

At the start of the season, winning two out of four would have been cause for hand-wringing... instead it is a sign of progress as Green Bay prevailed over Tampa.  6 - 6

Third Quarter record 2 - 2

Before the season, no Packer fan would have thought a win at Cleveland would be crucial or a question; it was both as Green Bay eked out a win.  7 - 6

As quickly as one game gives you hope and a path to the playoffs with the quarterback returning and the hopes are crushed in North Carolina.  7 - 7

When you can't make the playoffs, you search for other reasons to watch and to win, but the border state rival Vikings were having nothing of good Packer intentions.  7 - 8

It ends with a whimper in Detroit and the Pack finishes 7 - 9, their worst record in a very long time.  Change is coming!
