Game 15 - Playing for Pride

A few of the Packer hat collection.

The slimmest of hopes were dashed last Monday night when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers couldn't do the Packer's job for them and beat Atlanta.

It meant no trip to the NFL post-season for the first time since 2008 when Aaron Rodgers took over for Brett Favre.

It's an unusual situation for players and for fans.

Last night's 16 - 0 loss to Minnesota was the last of the air out of the balloon.

It looked to me like the players on the field were energized and gave their all.  But with back-ups filling in for starters matched up with one of the two best teams in the NFC - it wasn't enough.

Maybe I was numb to it.  The Vikings dominated the game with their defense - picking off Green Bay on our only real opportunity to get a touchdown.  The Packer defense were game, but you can't win when you cannot score.

Just one more game.  I hope to see more of a connection between the quarterback and receivers and more throws of 10 yards or more.

At this point, this loss isn't disappointing; just a reminder that this year's Packer squad isn't meeting our high expectations.

We can only hope things can turn around before next season.

7 - 8 with the final game a week from today in Detroit.   go pack.  go.
