The Newport bridge crosses the Little Vermilion River. 10/29/2011 dwm photo |
It is also called the Morehead bridge, but I didn't find any reason for that name. Presumably, there was a family named Morehead who lived near its location.
The bridge is in a wooded natural area, so it fits the river bottom land where it stands.
The late October day when I took these pictures was spectacular.
The Little Vermilion River winds its way through the trees and under the bridge - a very quiet spot.
E County Rd 50 N goes right over the bridge west of Highway 63. (dwm) |
