After a couple of Rush County bridges with an abundance of history, this week's bridge doesn't even show up in Wikipedia's list of covered bridges in Indiana!

But like those other Rush County bridges, it was built by the Kennedy family, this one in 1884.

According to bridgehunter.com, Offutt's Ford didn't get the upgrades given other bridges and remains a three ton capacity bridge.

During much of the 1980s it was closed and came close to being dismantled before it was rehabbed for light traffic.

An arson fire in 1995 put its future in doubt again, before it was restored and given a coat of paint.

It is a pretty bridge with an adjacent park which allows bridge-lovers to get pictures of the structure over the Little Blue River.

I recall a couple of family homes near the bridge and imagine the bridge was a primary attraction.
