Bridges of Indiana's Counties - Putnam Co. - #75 Rolling Stone

Perfect timing - 4:34 pm 6/6/2010 as the sun lights up the

Out of the more than 100 covered bridges I've photographed - this photo (upper left) is my all-time favorite.

It was late afternoon when we made it to the bridge near the small town of Bainbridge.

After getting photos from a distance, we drove a little closer.

As I walked to the bridge, I noticed the sunshine streaming through the boards on the south side of the bridge.

It was amazing.

Reviewing the pictures on the camera's screen, I wasn't sure if the photo captured the beauty of that moment.  I was thrilled later to see it did.

The bridge wasn't named for the world-famous rock band, but an actual rock, that was rolled around by the water.  It's been removed for safety reasons, but that had to be a pretty interesting sight.

The story about the rock is the only history I found on this working bridge.

It is the farthest north bridge in Putnam County that crosses Big Walnut Creek, the first of five crossings.

And because the sun and bridge were in the right spot at the right time - it will always be one of my favorites.

Rolling Stone is at upper right.
