What last week's featured covered bridge - Snow Hill - lacked in being photogenic; the difficult to pronounce Stockheughter made up for it.

The last of the four covered bridges in Franklin County on my list.  Its location was ideal for a photo shoot.

Enochsburg Road crosses Salt Creek as it heads west into the town for which it is named.

The bridge was built in 1887 by the Smith Brothers. Then fixed back up in 2009.

It's in a quiet part of the county.

Folks who live here might notice your out-of-town vehicle and quickly conclude you are here for the bridge.  Thankfully, when you find it, there are good places to park out of the way of traffic.

The creek was moving fast and babbling quite a bit the day we stopped.  The water wasn't deep.  Instead the creek ran around and over rocks which allowed me to get off the bank for the top photo.

It feels like a perfect place for a picnic.  Although I don't recall there being any table or actual park.  So, if that interests you - bring your own blanket - and enjoy the peace and quiet of an earlier age.
