Wedding Bells

Waiting for a wedding. 10/3/2026 dwm

There's new members of the family - our oldest son's wife and her children after their wedding last Saturday.

We made the trip to north Wisconsin for the nuptials at the bride's home while using Ladysmith as our base of operations.

There was a rehearsal Friday evening as the wedding party practiced how to get all of them up front and in order before the music ended.

While it seemed tough to execute, everything went as planned on the big day.

An outdoor wedding requires help from the weather and it was a pretty good day. Other than a few sprinkles there was no rain to speak of and it was 60 degrees, cool enough to keep insects away and warm enough we didn't need space heaters.

There were 50 to 60 people attending, most were friends of the bride or part of her family.

After the vows, photographers took pictures of the wedding party as lunch was prepared. Matt's best friend said a few words about the groom and the bride's matron of honor talked about their friendship and her friend's next chapter.

It's a new chapter for all of us. We look forward to new birthdays and holidays to come.

  Welcome to the family!
