Brewers Advance to the WORLD SERIES

 It was 44 years ago that the Milwaukee Brewers were in the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. A series they lost in seven games. It was so long ago, that Milwaukee was a member of the American League at the time.

 As I've written before, I was in college during the World Series and only remember watching a few innings of game 6. The Cardinals beat the Brewers in that game to force a game 7, then broke our hearts by winning that one too. 

After that series the Brewers were in the wilderness for a long time after that. I remember hoping the Brewers would win enough games to keep things interesting into August when the Packers started training camp. A good season for those Brewer teams was winning half our games. 

The 1981 and 82 Brewers made the play-offs, they didn't get there again until 2008 and in 2011. Starting
in 2018, the Brewers have been in the post-season 8 of the last 9 seasons (including 2026) and this team isn't finished, we have four more games.

Last year I was hoping the Brewers would get to the World Series, the Dodgers beat them four games in a row and sent us home. This year, the team was different early in the season as the team proved itself by coming from behind and meeting challenges game after game. 

My favorite statistic was that the team didn't have a winning streak longer than five games, but they only had one six game losing streak, meaning they won two out of every three games more often than not.

The first game of the World Series is a week from today, live in American Family Field. I wrote September 27 that I believe in this team, like many other fans, and I can't wait for the journey and raising one more trophy as World Series Champions!
