I've been in a few hammocks in my life, but not long enough to sleep or even doze for a few minutes. It probably feels great but I would be concerned how to get out of one and land on my feet.
Do you have a spot where you can find an uninterrupted hour of peace?
It could be the man cave, the backyard, or a favorite local park.
For me, the seat on my bike provides peace, albeit in smaller chunks of time. It re-charges my battery to take in the world around me and feel my body efficiently move down the road or climb a hill.
Downhill isn't generally a place for that kind of quiet because if it has any descent at all, you better have all senses fully engaged.
Almost 30 years ago I went to a get together with other agents in the insurance agency where we worked and one morning, found me on a boat with calm water, blue skies and a bald eagle in flight.
The nice thing about a hammock is you can tie it almost anywhere and drift into dreamland. Put up a picture on a wall where you live or work where you can stare at if for a few minutes of a mental vacation.
If there's room, save a hammock for me.
