My Week that Was - June 13

It 20.5 miles to the east edge of McFarland and 20.5 miles back home. That east edge is further east than it used to be, but it's the same spot where I turned around. A former farm field is under construction to grow more housing.

After returning home, I had time to relax a few hours before heading to Milwaukee to see two teams from the Banana Ball Baseball League. It was loud. It was chaotic. It was fun. You can read about it tomorrow.

I went to bed Saturday night later than usual, and was up six hours later for a trip to the gym. After breakfast there was church, and after lunch it was time to rest and relax.

Monday was a busy day on Oakwood's east campus. I had a couple of meetings and three donor appointments. There were projects I couldn't finish until Tuesday.

We distributed the mid-year appeal Tuesday on the west campus and Wednesday on the east side. I spent much of Wednesday on the phone scheduling appointments through the rest of June.

After a long dry spell, we received some much-needed rain Wednesday into Thursday. Lawns around Madison looked like August during what is supposed to be the rainy season.

Friday brought a welcome change to the weather with cooler and drier temperatures and no rain, and a perfect day for a ride, you can read about it Tuesday.

I was on the bike five hours. One highlight was a flock of American Pelicans in flight. The birds are all white with black feathers highlighting the wings.

After the ride, I cleaned up and we used the rest of my day off for a trip to Duluth Trading Company's outlet in Belleville. (Duluth Trading is headquartered in nearby Mt. Horeb.)

Then we headed to the Grumpy Troll for a Friday evening dinner.

I was glad to get the ride in. While it should be nice Saturday morning, I'm hoping to keep up another June tradition, stay tuned.

The World Cup is underway in the United States. While I hope the USA wins, I don't expect to watch much of the tournament. I'll pay more attention to the Brewers.

This next week, I hope you find time to enjoy things you love!
