The Giddings is another member of the modern covered bridge. It's just 3-and-a-half miles northeast of Jefferson.
It's unclear if John Smolen, Jr. was involved with this bridge, but for the first time in my memory, the Giddings Road Covered Bridge was built thanks to a timber grant from the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Despite it's relative youth, the bridge was built in 1995, it looks the part in the middle of acres of farm land.
Trees line both banks of Mill Creek which also creates the impression this bridge may have been serving farmers and local residents for decades.

Trees lining both sides of the road and fences didn't allow me to get down to the creek for pictures. I did climb over the guard rail near the bridge, but there wasn't a clean path to a good view.
This was the second to last bridge in Ashatabula County, the last one, the Doyle Bridge, will be featured next week.
