| Riding Across Wisconsin. 7/12/25 dwm |
We headed home from Eau Claire Sunday morning with a stop in Osseo for breakfast (check out Thursday's blog if you missed it).
Sunday afternoon ended a nice stretch for the Milwaukee Brewers going into the All-Star break with seven consecutive wins. I hope the time off works in their favor - they started the second half of the season last night with a three-game series against the L. A. Dodgers, a team they swept in Milwaukee before the break.
I was glad to have Monday off for an extra day of rest. I had a couple errands to run and it was nice to get more rest before returning Tuesday morning.
Monday, July 14, was the last day of what Packers.com calls the Outsider's Inbox where readers of the website and Packer fans answer questions. This year I answered three questions but only one was selected for, "How did you become a Packers fan?"

My parents became GB fans because the fuzzy images on the TV quieted their little boy (me) from crying. Forty-some years later, we all lived in Indiana, and I met dad at BWW to get a table in front of the
set showing the Pack. Over nachos and chicken, we cheered with other GB fans as we lived and died with each possession. We spent a lot of time along the way to SB 45 from those seats. Dad passed in 2012. Memories of
those days make us rich. GPG!
Wednesday I received the email I was expecting, a survey about the Ride Across Wisconsin. It was a good event, and I gave them high marks for most of it, and a few areas where I suggested some improvements.

After the party, it was time for rickshaw rides for assisted living residents. A volunteer and I gave rides around campus for an hour. It was on the second to last trip that I saw something for the first time on campus.
As we rode toward an urban prairie next to Oakwood's parking lot we saw a doe and two fawn grazing. At first they were in the shade, as we came to a stop to watch, the trio moved into the light for two more pictures before disappearing into the brush.

| Grilling at the picnic. 7/18/25 dwm |
Oakwood's second summer picnic started at 11 on the Prairie Ridge campus. It was a second straight beautiful day with a lot of residents and employees enjoying food and music.
There was a special guest on hand, Maynard, the mascot of the Madison Mallards baseball team that plays in the Northwoods Wood Bat College Baseball League.
It was a great week, I hope you're off to a good start on your new week. Thanks for reading.
