| Cubs at Brewers 4/7/2017 dwm |
Monday night the Brewers rookie pitcher Jacob Misiorowski faced Matt Boyd pitching for the Cubs. Boyd is a good pitcher but the Miz is from another world.
Neither pitcher played well in the first. Miz walked a couple hitters then made an error throwing the ball to first base, which allowed two runs to score. Boyd walked the first two Brewers, then after a visit from his pitching coach, he threw a double play ball and finished the inning with a Christian Yelich ground-out.
Misiorowski didn't play like himself, throwing 40 pitches in the first. But he pulled himself together and kept the Cubs from scoring in his last three innings.

Seven relievers combined to cover the last five innings while giving up just one run; the Brewers won, 8 - 4.
Game 2 pitted former Brewer Colin Rea for the Cubs against Quinn Priester, who started the season as a possible backup and became a stalwart on the pitching staff.
The Cubs took an early lead, but Priester rallied and worked out of trouble. The Brewers took the lead in their half of the third, then addied 3 runs in the 5th and 4 more in the 6th thanks to Andrew Vaughn's grand slam.

Priester won his 10th game this season as the Brewers took a 2 game lead in the National League Central Divisional race with a 9 to 3 win.
The third game was Wednesday afternoon. I was working and could only check the score a couple times but it wasn't good.
Despite the Brewers having their ace pitch, the Cubs had their way, beating the Crew 10 - 3 and close the race to one game.
Winning two of three is good.. There are five games left against Chicago in Wrigley Field in mid-August; and there's a third of the season left before it's over, Go Brewers!
