A few hours and 30 miles later, I was placing an order from my seat at the counter of the Koffee Kup Kafe for lunch. The downtown diner is known for pies, coffee, and home cooking.
I'm sure we've eaten lunch there but most of the time, it's a place to enjoy breakfast. It turns out, they know lunch too.
Mother's Day was a success. I used common sense and tried to follow a hint from my wife on what she wanted for Mother's day. She was happy after opening the envelope. There is still the matter for the upcoming experience to meet expectations, but so far, so good.
Monday I was on the west campus and busy on the phone or keyboard all day. It was nice getting through half of this week's call list. There were also a couple projects to wrap up and send on their way.
Tuesday afternoon I was scheduled to talk about lighthouses. I featured lights on Lake Superior, calling it The Lights of Gitchie Gumie and the Shipwreck Coast. The audience seemed to enjoy the presentation and asked good questions. It's been awhile since my last show and I forgot how tiring talking for nearly an hour can be. That's out-weighed however by how much I enjoy doing it.
Wednesday I dove into one of the Continuing Education classes all employees are required to finish. It was the second of two hour-long classes but after finishing it, the rest of the courses are either 15 or 30 minutes. I like tackling long classes first so things go faster the closer I get to the end.
I've always looked forward to the release of the NFL schedule because it is the first taste of the new season. Green Bay opens at home for the first time since 2018 when they host division champ Detroit. Then they play a second game four days later when Washington comes to Titletown.
Thursday was the last day of my work week, again. A doctor's appointment was scheduled mid-morning on Friday, so it meant missing more than an hour of work so why not take the day off? So, I did.
The doctor appointment went well and I received a good report. It's nice to hear my exercise regimen is paying dividends. After the appointment we took a drive into Sauk County, more on that tomorrow.
Wisconsin had severe weather this week but it skirted our area. Thankfully, the reports I've seen indicate no deaths caused by the storms. I hope you have a week of fair weather!
