How about some Froyo?

In a pinch, I would eat and have consumed frozen yogurt, so if you have an extra cone or pint to send my way on Frozen Yogurt Day, thank you.

But there are differences between frozen yogurt, ice cream, ice milk, and frozen custard.

Frozen Yogurt has live bacteria cultures and tastes different than ice cream due to its lactic acid. Crucially, it tastes and feels different because it uses milk instead of cream.

It can be dispensed with a soft-serve machine like ice milk (which has less milk fat than ice cream) or frozen custard (which adds egg yolks to cream and sugar).

If you invite me for a scoop in a bowl or served ala mode over strawberry-rhubarb pie, I'd start my preferences this way: frozen custard, ice cream, frozen yogurt, and ice milk.

Frozen yogurt may be healthier - although there may be as many calories as ice cream - because, yogurt with probiotic cultures, including frozen varieties, can help maintain and improve heart and blood vessel health.

Does that mean I should keep some on hand?

It may be February, but it's a good time to celebrate, just head to a frozen yogurt shop near you.
