A New Breakfast Roll

A super-roll. 1/20/25 dwm photo

Yesterday was a holiday, I spent extra time at the gym, when I got home, my wife was putting a new pastry in the oven.

She got the idea somewhere else and this was the first time we tried it. It starts with a cylinder of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, you know the kind, that pop out of the canister when it opens.

It starts by unwinding each roll, starting with the center then connecting the center of the next, then repeating until you have a plate-sized cinnamon roll.

It's a wonderful comfort food and a personal favorite. When I was growing up, our family had those rolls for breakfast on Sunday mornings.

As I got older, mom baked two containers worth and let me take care of one plate by myself. I don't eat them as often and not in that quantity anymore, but they remain the keyhole to another time and place.

It's warm and delicious, you might want to try it sometime on a cold winter morning.
