An Office Holiday

2024 Holiday Party. 12/12/24 dwm
It's the holiday season at Oakwood. Recent parties on each campus celebrated St. Lucia's Day, Las Posadas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and Christmas.

Those parties were specifically for employees. Many departments have their own gatherings and individual employees get together on their own.

Monday I went to a smaller gathering, this one for the administration team. The directive was to bring or wear your ugliest holiday sweater because there was going to be a contest.

There was a nice lunch then those of us wearing holiday attire competed in four categories. My sweater had the body of an elf and a neck that stopped six inches below mine. It looked strange, but it wasn't ugly enough or festive enough to capture a prize.

There were prizes for most festive, most fun, and prettiest. I finished out of the medals. The looks and comments I heard for wearing a smaller than medium men's sweater were worth it.

But for the rest of the holiday season, I'll stick to holiday-themed ties.
