My Week that Was - October 26

A palette of autumn colors in Verona. 10/19/24 dwm
My week started like most of my weeks since March, with a bike ride.

An autumn highlight has occurred each year near where we live, it's a line of trees stretching nearly a city-block in a park that show off their colors.

The blog of the ride was posted Tuesday. It was the coldest ride of the year and one of the latest rides. Last year my final ride was October 22.

Monday was a third beautiful day in south Wisconsin, with temperatures in the 70s. It will cool down mid-week but still be warmer than usual.

Tuesday marked fourteen days until the election. It can't get here fast enough. We're muting all political commercials when they appear on the TV. I suppose it's possible there are still a handful of people who are legitimately undecided but it's difficult to imagine what it takes for them to make a decision.

I got my flu shot Tuesday afternoon. As I've written previously, before I started working at Oakwood I wasn't concerned about getting it. I don't roll up my sleeve because I'm worried, but it's worth taking every precaution if it prevents me from spreading the flu or other illnesses.

The plan is to get the latest Covid shot next week. There was an option of getting both at the same time, but it felt like a better idea to have time between vaccinations.

Wednesday I found time to get my hair cut on the way home from work. Once upon a time I would get my hair cut to the length it was when it was cut this week, now I want the weight off my scalp.

The big accomplishment this week was completing the review of data in our transition to a new customer relationship management system. It may still be a few weeks before we're using it, but we've reached a significant milestone in this journey.

I took Friday off to give blood and attend the Craft show at Oakwood's Prairie Ridge campus, then after a late breakfast, got on the bike for the last ride of the year. You can read more about it Tuesday.

I hope you had a nice week and are getting some rest as the next week begins; thanks for reading!
