The 2023 season was what a former Green Bay quarterback may have called a "wonderful mystery."
No one knew how the season would unfold, while we hoped to see a quarterback able to take the reins from two of the best the Packers had ever seen.
Jordan Love matured over the course of the season, finishing strong by leading his team into the play-offs and a win during the Wild Card round.
His successful start was profitable for his team mates, the organization, and himself, as he signed a contract extension that made him (until the next QB contract is signed) the highest paid quarterback in the NFL.
I'm excited for this season and looking for the Packers to build on last year's strong season with another trip to the post-season. The season starts tomorrow night in Sao Paulo, Brazil playing the Philadelphia Eagles, the first of 17 regular season games.
Here is my fearless forecast:
Home games are in Bold. The last regular season game time, date, and network will be scheduled after week 17 games conclude.
Friday 9/6/2024 @ Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil 7:15 pm, Peacock
2022 was Green Bay's first regular season game outside the United States, less than two years later, the Pack is in Sao Paulo to play the Eagles in the first International game played during the opening weekend. It's a break for the Packers to play the Eagles in Brazil instead of their usual home at Lincoln Financial Field. After a preseason where starters barely play it's difficult to get a line on how teams will play. Green Bay's offense returns virtually intact with a new, younger running back in Josh Jacobs taking the place of Aaron Jones. On defense, fans are anxious to see what this new, more aggressive product will do when the lights go on. After an off-season deciding which kicker should handle field goals and extra points, the team is using a rookie, Brayden Narveson. I expect a tight game.

Sunday 9/15/2024 Indianapolis Colts v Packers 12 pm, FOX
It's been four years since the Packers played the AFC South for their inter-division games. The Colts have a young, exciting quarterback under center, Anthony Richardson. His first season last year was cut short by injury but he showed flashes of talent with his arm and his feet.
This will be a one-score game but I like Green Bay to win (2-0).
Sunday 9/22/2024 @ Tennessee Titans 12pm, FOX
The Titans are usually a tough team to beat, playing them in week 3 might be a good thing, taking them on now before they can figure things out with a young quarterback and missing their long-time stud running back, Derrick Henry. This seems like a game Green Bay should win easily but those are games that are the most trouble, especially if they are thinking about their next opponent. The Pack should win, but it feels like a trap. A trap.
It wasn't likely they were going to be undefeated anyway, Titans win (2 -1).
Sunday 9/29/2024 Minnesota Vikings 12 pm, CBS
Over the last decade, the two games between the Packers and Vikings are among the toughest and hardest fought all year. This is the first time former Packer Aaron Jones will line up to play his old team since Green Bay released him and signed free agent Josh Jacobs to be their new feature running back. If this Packer team is going to be the organization we got a glimpse of at the end of last season, this is a game Green Bay finds a way to win.
A win over Minnesota is a great thing, Packers win (3-1).
Sunday 10/ 6/2024 @ Los Angeles Rams 3:25 pm, CBS
Packer coach Matt LaFleur and Rams coach Sean McVay are friends and former colleagues, considered among the best and brightest coaches in the league. Green Bay has won four of the last five games against Los Angeles. The Rams are a good team. They have a good quarterback and their coach finds ways to win. I think we'll see the Packers offense put on a show and their revamped defense dominate.
Green Bay wins, 5 out of 6 with 11 to play (4-1).
Sunday 10/13/2024 Arizona Cardinals 12 pm, FOX
The Cardinals are trying to figure out who they are, Lambeau Field would be a great win for Arizona. It's another type of test for the young Packers. It may not a game Green Bay wants to include in their highlight reel, but it's a game they should win.
Packers seem to have things going their way (5-1).
Sunday 10/20/2024 Houston Texans 12 pm, CBS
The Houston Texans saw their rookie QB, C.J. Stroud, succeed right out the gate. He dud better than the Heisman he won in college with an offensive rookie of the year award and took his team to the play-offs. G.B.'s QB, Jordan Love, started slow but rallied his team into the Divisional round of the post-season.
This will be a fun game to watch, Packers win (6-1).
Sunday 10/27/2024 @ Jacksonville Jaguars 12 pm, FOX
The last Green Bay played in Jacksonville, it was 2016 and the first game of the season. The Florida sun beat up the Packer fans and the team, which managed to hold off the Jaguars and get the win. Returning in late October should provide the Pack with better weather conditions when they return to Florida. These Jaguars are a better team than they were four or eight years ago.
This one will be tough, Packers lose (6-2).
Sunday 11/3/2024 Detroit Lions 3:25 pm, FOX
Detroit won the NFC North last season. They advanced to the NFC championship game. In 2024, some experts are picking them to reach the Super Bowl for the first time. The Packers lost at Lambeau in 2023 then beat the Lions at their place.
Green Bay wins at home (7-2).

Sunday 11/17/2024 @ Chicago Bears 12 pm, FOX
The Bears believe they have their quarterback of the future, and maybe the present, with Caleb Williams under center. Chicago has had a good defense, if the offense can play with the best teams in the league, as some experts predict, it could be a big turn-around for the Monsters of the Midway. Wins in the division mean more and LaFleur has a good record coming off a bye week, the question is if Jordan Love still holds the title to the Bears.
Heading into a tough stretch, the Packers win (8-2).
Sunday 11/24/2024 San Francisco 49ers 3:25 pm, FOX
The 49ers ended the Packers season, then beat Detroit to reach the Super Bowl where the lost to Kansas City. The Packers won't need any extra motivation for this game. Winning doesn't put them in the Super Bowl, but it would show that the Pack is back and ready to play with the big boys.
A Narveson field goal clinches the win (9-2).
Thanksgiving Thursday 11/28/2024 Miami Dolphins 7:20 pm, NBC
The last time Green Bay played on Thanksgiving night, Brett Favre's number was retired and Bart Starr was in the building. It was a great night except the Packers lost to the Bears. If its Packer weather, and why wouldn't it be in late November, the team from Miami might feel cold. This is a game for Love to establish his cold-weather bona fides.
Packers win (10-2)
Thursday 12/5/2024 @ Detroit Lions 7:15 pm, Amazon Prime
A month after beating the Lions at home, Detroit roars to life in their dome. The Lions need the game to stay in the hunt for the play-offs and find their way.
Detroit evens the series and sends the Packers home with a loss ((10-3).
Sunday 12/15/2024 @ Seattle Seahawks 7:20 pm, NBC
The mini-bye gives Green Bay a breather before they fly to Seattle to battle the Seahawks. I have a soft-spot in my sports heart for Seattle, when they joined the league their owner was from Monroe, Wisconsin and their quarterback played his college ball at Milton College, just north of my hometown. That's when they were in the AFC, they've played in the NFC for a long-time now.
Seattle plays in a loud stadium, Packers lose (10-4).
Monday 12/23/2024 New Orleans Saints 7:15 pm, ESPN
At least one NFL prognosticator thought New Orleans would be one of the worst teams in the league this season. After two straight losses and their post-season dreams intact, the Packers are ready to play.
Packers get a win with two division rivals waiting (11-4).
Sunday 12/29/2024 @ Minnesota Vikings 12 pm, FOX
Minnesota lost their quarterback of the future to a season-ending injury before the season started. They are more likely to be anticipating a top pick when the NFL draft arrives in Green Bay next April. In a methodical game, Packers win (12-4).
TBD Week 18 Chicago Bears TBD, TBD
No games are set in stone for the final weekend of regular season football, they might play in the first game Saturday or the night game on Sunday. If they are playing Sunday night, the Packers probably came into this game with a 9-7 record, battling with Chicago for the play-offs. The Packers will not lose this game.
Packers win (13-4) and look ahead to the first-round of the play-offs. Go Pack, Go!
