Is it Interesting?

I'm not sure where this thought started, but in a world that chases clicks and likes, I wondered about the least popular searcheinternet topics are these days.

After typing in the question, the top (or bottom) three were:

  • Elvis has left the building
  • Who is buried in Grant's Tomb
  • Are there penguins in North America

The Elvis Presley reference is curious since he permanently left the building in 1977.

It originated in his concerts because he left the stage while the band was playing so he could avoid the rush of fans. When the king of rock-n-roll was gone, the concert was over.

The question of who is buried in Grant's tomb is answered, of course, with President Ulysses S. Grant and his wife, Julia. More accurately, they aren't buried, but entombed. But the urgency of the answer was because the former Civil War General wanted to be buried next to his wife, which couldn't happen in military cemeteries.

It makes sense the first two search topics have fallen by the wayside but it is unlikely people would think there are penguins north of the equator. There might be a few on the Galapagos Islands which is close to belt around the globe, but no penguins north of it.

There is one conclusion. Not only are these the least searched topics, they just aren't interesting, which answers today's question.
