It's Summertime!

Indianapolis. 7/8.2021 dwm photo
A hot and hazy afternoon is the perfect time for summer solstice. It's the longest "day" of the year, with two more seconds of daylight than yesterday and two more than tomorrow.

 That's 15 hours, 22 minutes, and 16 seconds!

It feels like summer. The dew-point has been high, making it sticky, which doesn't go well with temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s.

I'm partial to low to moderate dew-points and temperatures in the 70s to low 80s. When hot and humid is forecast, I try to get out early in the morning.

Summer of '24
The days are hot
It's tough to breathe.

Pollen in air
Makes me sneeze.

The cicadas aren't here
They're not heard this year.
A few miles south,
Folks hardly can hear

Cold glasses of lemonade
Can still be had
For a dollar a glass
Which isn't half-bad.

Life in the sauna
Doesn't last long
In just 98 days,
Summer is gone!
