I'm Busted Now

Results from the weekend kicked out my teams, highlighted in yellow.  dwm

I lost my last four teams as Iowa State, Arizona, Creighton, and Houston were left by the side of the road to the Final Four.

The only teams left are the University of Connecticut, Alabama, Purdue, and North Carolina State.

Connecticut is the top-overall seed. They ran roughshod over every team they played so far. They beat Illinois, the B1G champion, by 25 points in the Elite Eight game and it wasn't that close.

Alabama won a tough game with Clemson, reaching the last weekend for the first time.

Purdue lost to a 16-seed last year. The last time that happened to a 1-seed, Virginia returned the next year to win it all. Purdue has a chance to win it all, they are two wins away.

North Carolina State is Cinderella at this dance - they've won nine in a row since their conference tournament began. The last time a team did that, they won it all.

U Conn plays Alabama while Purdue takes on North Carolina State Saturday for the right to play for the championship.

UConn and Purdue have the premier big men in the field. Purdue's Zach Edey is the defending National Player of the Year, but Donovan Clingan is nearly as big and more agile around the basket.

I'd like to see their teams fight for the crown, but if North Carolina State reaches the last game, they will be everyone's favorite.

Connecticut looks like the best team but I expect the North Carolina State Wolf Pack cuts down the nets.
