My Week that Was - April 22

Saturday breakfast at Norske Nook. 4/15/23

Saturday morning after the regular workout, we started our day at the Norske Nook in DeForest.  It's been a while since we've eaten there and it was nice to get back.

When we lived in Augusta, the original Norske Nook was just a 10-minute drive to Osseo, so we ate there often and it was a must-stop whenever family visited.

Back home, I got the bikes out for the first time this season - cleaned out the mud in the nooks and crannies of the recumbent, removed the dust, and pumped the tires. All three bikes are ready to go.

Sunday it was time to clean a fan.  There was a coat of dust caked on the fan blades; around the motor; and tucked between the protective guard around the fan.  It wasn't difficult but it took an hour to get everything apart then carefully cleaning the dust and grime before re-assembling it.

That took a while as it stopped being a fan and became a puzzle with pieces that didn't fit.  Finally, everything was in place and it ran so quiet the only way to know it was running was to sit in front of it.

Monday was unusual because it was the first time in a long time I wasn't on the Prairie Ridge campus on the first day of the week.  The reason is a new regular meeting over the lunch hour on the University Woods campus, 21 miles to the west.

That means the third Monday each month will keep me  on the west side with the third Tuesday at Prairie Ridge.  That schedule worked fine as I had two donor visits and the sixth of eleven pizza parties that evening.

The seventh pizza party was Thursday at 11:30.  It was a good group, I talked to 43 people in the two lunches.  I try to keep my comments short, answering more questions than talking.  On Thursday, four residents were new, moving in less than six months earlier, so it was my first time to meet them.

It was a busy and fast moving week, Friday seemed ahead of schedule and the weekend is busier than any couple of days around our house for a while... it starts Friday (last evening) with the Varsity Band Spring Concert at the Kohl Center.  I'll blog about it on Tuesday.

I hope your week ahead is busy and packed with fun!
