Carpe Diem

You can seize the day in the outdoors. 2/18/2023 dwm
Before YOLO came along (you only live once) the good people of Rome centuries ago had their own catchy phrase, "Carpe Diem!"

Seize the day!

I guess the originators of Carpe Diem day felt they had procrastinated long enough by the 26th of February and decided it was time for the world to recognize the fragility of life and encourage everyone to give it all they had every day.

We go to sleep, wake up and go about our day worrying or planning for the future.  Perhaps we recall or regret various episodes.

That's all fine and good but we can't do anything about the future and can't change the past, what we have is the present, right NOW.

I can't imagine the people of ancient Rome thinking about moments that passed them by or needed to be coached to live in the moment or as we say now, 'be present.'

Since you only live once take time to carpe your diem!  Ponder the vulnerability of life with a feeling of gratitude.
