Packers Win!

My collectible Packer pick-up.
Green Bay has won four straight.

When the Packers were sitting at 4 - 8 on the season, almost no one but the players and ever-optimistic fans believed Green Bay had a shot.  I believed as long as there was a mathematical possibility, there was a chance.

In week 16 of the season (17 games are spread over 18 weeks for each team), four teams with a better chance than the Pack had to lose while Green Bay won to give the green and gold reasonable hope.

The four teams (Detroit, Washington, New York, and Seattle) lost.  Washington lost again this past Sunday, removing them from play-off contention.

The Packers played their best all-around game of the season when Minnesota sailed into Green Bay.  Yhe Vikings blocked a Packer punt and recovered it at the Green Bay two-yard line, but Green Bay's defense kept them out of the end zone, holding them to a field goal.

When the Vikings kicked off, Keisean Nixon carried it 105-yards to the opposite end zone to put the Packers up 7 - 3.  Their next score came on a pick-six, when Darnell Savage Jr. return a batted ball 75 yards for a touchdown and 14 - 3 lead.

The offense added three more touchdowns via an A.J. Dillon run, a pass from Aaron Rodgers to Bob Tonyan, Rodgers ran it in from three yards out, and Mason Crosby added two field goals - highlighted by a 56-yarder as time ran out in the first half.  That's notable because that's a long way to kick a ball outdoors in January.

It all comes down to this weekend against Detroit in Lambeau Field - the winner advances, the loser goes home.  Go Pack, Go!  The Lions come into the den in Green Bay Sunday night, game time is 7:20 pm.
