Otto

Poster at Point Cinema 1/7/23 dwm

We saw A Man Called Otto yesterday at Marcus' Point Cinema on Madison's west side.

We loved it.

Previously we had seen the Swedish movie, A Man Called Ove, on one of our streaming services (it is available on Amazon Prime).

Otto builds on that movie with a more textured story of Otto, a widower grieving his loss and channeling his anger at the world.

There are plenty of laughs - I saw myself in some of Otto's aggravations in everyday life.

The film moves back and forth from the present to several of his significant life moments.

Hanks is excellent but Mariana Trevino is the heartbeat of the movie.  Otto and Marisol forge an unexpected friendship, each learning life skills from the other.

I expect this movie to be both popular and award-winning, when it's showing near you, I encourage you to have your popcorn ready.
