Packers get a W

Fly the G.  Lambeau Field 10/3/2021 dwm
After a crushing loss (for fans) in week one, the Packers took the opening kickoff downfield then settled for a field goal Sunday night.

Chicago responded, nearly effortlessly it seemed, with drive of their own that put 7 on the scoreboard.

Then Packer nation saw the team perform as we expected/hoped with 21 points in the second quarter.  In the second half, the Green Bay defense held the Bears out of the end zone with a goal line stand.  If Chicago scored it would have been a one score game.

Each team put a field goal on the board in the second half and that was it, Green Bay 27, Chicago 10.

One of the most remarkable statistics for Packer coach Matt LaFleur is he's never lost consecutive games in the same season.

Less remarkable are the egg-laying defeats in the season opening game in both 2021 and 2022.  I prefer to think of his back to back to back 13 win seasons.

Sunday the Packers play in Tampa as the Buccaneers and ageless quarterback Tom Brady try to win another Super Bowl after falling short, like the Pack, in 2021.

Both teams are strong on defense and each have an all-time quarterback.  After losing a conference and division game to open the season, it's important to get an NFC win and capture the tie-breaker over the Bucs.

More than that, it will create a winning pattern for the team, and their (too nervous) fans.

Go Pack, Go!
