The first part of the week was fairly uneventful. I didn't get on a bike for the first time in months, instead I worked around them straightening up the garage - getting rid of items that had outlived their usefulness and moving the trash into the can.
Saturday night was our fantasy draft for the Sportz Boyz league. Before we selected players I thought my team needed a new name as they under performed in 2021. The Veronison Pointdexters are gone, replaced with the new, tougher Fighting Pointdexters.
Just so I don't scare you away from reading, this concludes the fantasy football updates. If I remember, I'll let you know how it turns out.
A new person joined our team in the foundation this week. I'm hopeful it will work out for the new hire and our office. So far, so good.
We held two donor recognition events this week. A picnic cookout for members of our Oak Tree Circle, which is what we call our automatic giving club. We surpassed 100% attendance when more people came than had reserved spots, so that was great.

| Chinese lantern or bladder cherry flower. 9/1/22 |
Another beautiful flower was close to blooming, the Chinese lantern or bladder cherry flower. It's home territory is southern Europe to south Asia and northeast Asia, so it's an invasive species in the nature preserve. It is pretty and attracts attention from passengers on the bike.
I ate lunch outside Thursday, while looking up at the blue skies I saw a bald eagle flying overhead. That doesn't happen every day.
It is usually fun heading into a three-day weekend. It felt good leaving the office with projects ready to go and several appointments scheduled next week. It's the unofficial end of summer, the actual weather will determine what things feel like between now and the autumnal equinox, let's see what happens.
Enjoy your weekend!
