My Week that Was - July 16

Daisies off the Cannonball Path. 6/10/2022

Saturday we buried my father-in-law in the Center Point cemetery.  As an Air Force veteran, an honor guard commemorated his service with the playing of taps and the folding of the United States flag which was presented to his family.

Afterwards, we said our good-byes and headed home for a life without the physical presence of parents in our lives.

Sunday I took a long ride which I wrote about in Tuesday's post

The biggest surprise of the weekend is the post about Donutland which appeared Sunday.   It very quickly became the second most popular blog ever with 140 views during its first 48 hours online.  As I write this sentence it is less than a dozen views from becoming the most popular blog ever.

At work we're finalizing plans for the first thank you events for donors since 2020.  The plan is to start with small events, hopefully later in the year we can hold another larger event to thank donors and let them know about the impact their gifts are making.

Change of focus on flowers 6/10/22
Unless you live an internet-free life (which means you aren't reading this) you probably knew that "Prime Day" was the 12th and 13th.

Thanks to some gift cards received for working out, I found some good socks, polo shirt, slippers, and a water pick.

Half the stuff arrived one day after ordering.  If the pioneers were able to order supplies as they traveled the Oregon trail, think how much easier their trip across the west would have been!

The rickshaw rides this week were busy with many riders.  It also seems that our easiest bike for riders to access is losing battery power.  On my last two rides there was nearly zero battery assist when it came to climbing hills with passengers.  I made it but it was much, much, much more difficult than it has ever been.  Since this bike arrived we've used it significantly more than the others so it makes sense we've exhausted its ability to keep the bike going at full-strength.

Friday was quiet with writing projects to finish and a few calls to make.  Next week looks busy - if the weather cooperates  and you're reading this early Saturday morning I'm hoping to be out for an early ride.

Keep riding, keep moving, have a great week!
