My Week that Was - June 11

Sunday afternoon on the Badger. 6/5/22 (dwm)
It was rainy last Saturday with no good prospects that it would be dry enough to ride, so I ran for an hour on the treadmill at the gym.

After cleaning up, we grabbed bagels for breakfast and picked up some items from the hardware store.

Sunday after church and lunch, the sun came out despite forecasts for a rainy, overcast day.  It felt like an opportunity to get out and go, so I did, over 21 miles on portions of the Military Ridge and Badger State trails.

Monday and Tuesday I was on our Prairie Ridge campus for several visits and my tenth pizza party.  It was a good couple of days.

Judging a week can be difficult.  Four of six appointments were postponed for four different reasons.  The two that went as scheduled were productive and the pizza party introduced me to several new people.  Thankfully the phone calls were productive.

It's been a wet week, which is good news.  South Wisconsin has been in some level of drought since last year, thanks to some soaking rains we are nearly back to normal.  I'm not sure you recover from stretches of no rain; rain now doesn't make-up for rain or snow that didn't fall in September or January.

Our fleet of rickshaws at Univ. Woods 6/9/22
The week ended quietly.  Thursday we had an open house of sorts to reintroduce the rickshaw bicycles to our independent living residents.

Over the course of three hours, we gave more than a dozen rides around campus.  It's fifteen to twenty minutes of a different perspective; the wind in your hair; and enjoying conversations at a gentle speed.

That was my week.  I'm looking forward to another first post-Covid moment as 2022 marks a return of celebrations for Dairy month.  It should be fun and tasty.

 Have a great week!
