Celebrating Comics and Cartoons

May 5th is National Cartoonist Day.  My all-time favorite is Gary Larson, the creator of The Far Side.
It's possible to get a daily dose of The Far Side. Click here.  He occasionally shares a new comic, getting to relive his classic observations are part of how I start my day.

Just four decades ago, I liked starting my Saturdays with Friz Freeling, Mel Blanc and the hundreds or perhaps thousands responsible for "The Bugs Bunny and Road Runner Hour."

If I come across a classic episode of that rascally rabbit on any screen, I stop to watch and time-travel.

Looking back to college days, my roommate and I followed both Larson's panel and the strip devoted to lasagna eating cat, Garfield.  Calvin and Hobbes was another classic, but not one I followed closely.

Years (40) later, I still appreciate a well-crafted funny; a good line; and a clever pun.  Especially in today's world anyone and anything that can bring genuine laughter is a blessing, indeed.
