Cheese, it's so Good

People have been putting cheese on bread since the early Romans got hungry.

When the Wonder bread folks came up with a practical method to commercially slice bread (as seen on "Food the Changed the World - History Channel), the comfort food became a staple for everyone.

Today, April 12 is Grilled Cheese Day.

It's OK if you like taking two slices of processed cheese, place them on buttered slices of bread in a pan then heat until it begins to melt.

Since our visit to the Decatur Dairy, I've not found a better version.

The dairy's store sells curds, cheeses, and make individual sandwiches to order.  Now that it's spring, you might enjoy sitting at one of their picnic tables.  I suggest not eating their grilled cheese while you drive because its viscosity will mean you might be wearing more than what you eat.

It's a hearty meal packed with protein kids and adults need to get work done.  By itself or to accompany a bowl of tomato soup, grilled cheese is a good choice any day of the year.
