RESOLVED

It's a new year.  We hope it's better than last year and the year before that.  I believe we all  hope and pray 2022 consigns Covid-19 to the dustbin of history.

It is going to take more than hope.  We need to act.  Each of us can act deliberately to effect change.

It is resolved, I will:

... Start with kindness

... Pray frequently

... Be thankful

... Give generously

... Listen with an open-mind

... Sign up for booster shots as recommended to reduce the likelihood of making other people sick

... Advocate for others instead of against them

... Vote

... Support the voting rights of others

I understand these will be difficult to honor and uphold all the time; and like other New Year's resolutions I will probably fail miserably.  That, however, is not a reason not to be bold or expect good things.

This country was built on lofty ideals in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution that violated the very ideals they claimed to lift and uphold.  

Let's give it a try, then resolve to try and try again.  Happy 2022!
