One Year Later

One year ago Joe Biden was sworn in as President.

It's been a tumultuous year.  Covid-19 morphed into Delta and Omicron variants (is the Loki variant next?) continuing to sicken and kill people in the United States and around the world.

There are vaccines, developed quickly thanks to technology developed and refined over the past decade, which are saving lives for those able and willing to get it.

The former President was a mess of confusion when it came to vaccines and treatment for the disease.

While he eventually got the shots, it was too late for his legion of fans who seem to think Covid is a hoax and the vaccine a conspiracy.  His fans won't believe him now when he says they should roll up their sleeves.

The current President hasn't been a smash hit.  Some in his party don't think he's gone far enough and are withholding votes on issues within reach of some bipartisanship; as a result, well, there's no results.

Democracy is hanging by a thread thanks to the lies and lines of division sown by people afraid of change who want to fan flames of fear that lie deep in each person's heart.

It's un-American. Unimaginable.  Unfortunately, it is real and it's up to us, collectively, to find our way back to the American way.
