Handwritten

It's John Hancock's birthday, a perfect match for National Handwriting Day.

The most famous signature ever, "put your 'John Hancock' on it, won't you" carries more weight because it's personal, created with hand and ink.

If a card or letter shows up in the mailbox with your name scrawled across the envelope, you know it is from some one, even better, some one who likes you!

Text messages are quick to send out on a phone and emails are a nice way to convey longer notes quickly, but there is something special about a hand-written letter.

In my experience, it means more to the recipient because they know it took more than 30 seconds to think about what you wrote, then write it long-hand.

Do you 'owe' anybody a letter?  It couldn't be a better day to drop them a line.
