Death of a Hero

U.S. Senator, WWII Veteran
Bob Dole. (internet image)
Two days before Pearl Harbor Day, one of the American heroes in World War II passed away after a lifetime of service.

Bob Dole was 98 when he died after a long battle with cancer.  I met him a couple times in person, but the strongest connection was through a man who also served in World War II in the same unit.

In 2021, I think his passing will be noted for the type of politician he was and wasn't.

He certainly was a sharp debater with strong opinions, but unlike many of them today, he was willing to work across the aisle and was more likely to govern from the middle instead of the extreme.

Good-bye, Bob.  Thanks for your service to our country.
