Vintage Video - A Few Words

The final episode of Vintage Video has a different look and a much different feel than the other 24.

Four of the five pieces rely on the sights and sounds to convey the story without a voice-over.  The story on the release of the Trumpeter Swan is the only one with any sound bites, and just a few of those.

If you've watched the previous Vintage Video episodes you have seen the stories about the swan, bald eagles, and sailing.

The natural sound piece on catamarans and Panama City are the last of the newsreel stories to make their debut in this medium.

The start of the Panama City segment was shot from my hotel room downtown.  The unique feature of the hotel to a kid from the upper Midwest was that the building had open hallways.  Between the elevator and room you experienced the ocean breeze or got an extra dose of the area's heat and humidity; as I recall there were no windows or doors in place making the upper floors as exposed as a one-story ma and pa motel in Wisconsin.
