Water is life.
We can't live without it more than three days. In addition to our bodies needing it; water generates power; nurtures plants and animals; creates jobs; and provides a playground.
In this episode of Vintage Video, we explore ways water flows through our daily lives.
There are three long-form stories in this episode.
The first of the Thirty pieces looks at summer fun aboard a catamarans near Mobridge, South Dakota.
The second Thirty piece (9:59) talks with nighttime fishermen. The images were limited to what the camera could 'see' in the dark or record with a bright light which didn't reach far into the darkness.
The third is another South Dakota Centennial story (24:34). This one centers on a large canoe and its passengers as they re-trace the adventure of European - American fur traders.
The clam-digging story (17:13) was interesting because few people at the time were aware it was a way to make a living in Wisconsin.
I hope you enjoy it.
