Vintage Video - Military Honors

This week includes a variety of military themed stories starting with the deployment of a National Guard unit to join Operation Desert Shield; takes longer looks at two South Dakota Guard exercises; records a visit by the Coast Guard; shares letter to and from the troops with second-graders.

The highlight stories for me are the final two which features five Medal of Honor recipients and closes with a military funeral for a Civil War veteran after laying in an unmarked grave for decades.

The opening story on the Guard unit deploying shares the story of a young family as a wife and mother heads overseas and the look at second grade pen pals becomes more than a 'happy' story about kids writing letters.
