Wisconsin lost its showdown with Illinois on their home court. The basketball team has been struggling lately. The team plays best when it moves the ball in and out of the lane looking for a player cutting to the basket or an open shot from the outside.
Take away a 19-point outburst by D'mitrik Trice in the last 2:00 and the Badgers made less than 30% of their shots as they lost their 6th game out of 10.
The Badgers played better on Tuesday, but still lost. They have one game left before the B1G tournament and then the NCAA big bracket. It will be interesting to see how the team finishes the season.
One thing I noticed this week while calling residents was a note of optimism. Nearly everyone either had just received their second vaccination shot or were scheduled to get it. While the vaccine isn't a complete "get out of the lockdown free" card, it is a significant step toward normal. Only a couple people told me about some minor side effects, but weren't bothered by it and kept their eyes on the prize of being able to survive Covid-19.
The week was pretty quiet otherwise. I'm looking forward to heading to Oakwood Saturday morning... to get my second shot of the Moderna Covid Vaccine. I'll let you know how it went in the days to come.
Have a great week, stay safe!
