It's Spring!

Springtime blossoms.

Meteorological spring arrived March 1, but just seconds ago when this post went live at 4:37 AM Central Daylight Time, the vernal equinox occurred changing us from winter to spring!

While autumn is my favorite, spring ushers in more than flowers. It restores life where winter cold and snow blanketed the ground in slumber.

This year especially we need spring in our lives and in our hearts.

Warm and brighter days lift our spirits; gentle rains enrich the ground so much we can smell the ground coming to life.  In 2020 there was no zest spring could deliver as we hid from the virus which threatened our daily lives and our normal.

A 2021 Spring

Looking back I see quite clearly
All that we missed last year.

It started rather slowly
And caught us unaware.

They said it was corona
Which caused our world to shred

A beer? A flower? A star?
We thought "so what?" instead.

It's not yet done, there's a way to go
But ever closer do we crawl.

Keep up the work and wear a mask
To finish off the nasty bug.

Because once it's done and under wraps
Each other may we hug!

When Each Tiny Crocus Blooms

When each tiny crocus blooms
And tulips bear their flowers,
They push aside our many glooms
And show us brighter hours.

The blossoms of the daffodils
And those the lilies show
Are tools of nature as she fills
Our lives with gentle glow.

And as we these gifts enjoy
To lighten daily strife,
Let us all our strength employ
To let others share this life.
