The week started out with two great bike rides. On Saturday I noticed a lot of runners on the Badger State Trail. I asked a runner how far he was going, he said there were three races - 24 and 48 hours plus a last man standing competition - he was in it for 48!
It put me in mind an experiment during my freshman year of college. A friend was doing a study on the effects of sleep deprivation on reflexes and asked if I'd do it. Based on my schedule at that time, eliminating a few hours sleep didn't seem like a huge sacrifice and I could still get to work.
After the 48 was over, I had a couple classes and a shift at the radio station which extended my stretch to 70 hours.
There was a 24-hour stretch another time when a friend and I drove another friend from Des Moines, Iowa to O'Hare Field and back. As you might guess, there was a fair mount of Mt. Dew involved. The story behind the impromptu round-trip was that my friend was taking the bus to Chicago. It was way behind schedule due to weather, so we got in the car and made it to the main terminal in time for his plane.
I'll write more about the rides in a different post, but it was great to get out again. Saturday was spectacular under sunny skies with temps in the upper 60s. Sunday was nice, but cloudy and 10 degrees cooler.
It's 17 days until the election. I hope you plan to vote or voted early. It's important. This country needs a President who tells the truth; puts the country and the constitution first; and whose goal is bringing the nation together instead of highlighting divisions.

Our country needs to work together. It's a serious time for our country and our world - playing for ourselves isn't going to work. Whether you agree with me or not - please vote. Democracy is served when everyone is an active participant.
Another voice update - I made the shortlist for a voiceover job. It doesn't mean I'm hired, but I'm getting close.
Thursday I sat through five hours of continuing education delivered virtually. I prefer in-person classes - there is more to absorb and a better opportunity for inter-action. Since it's hard to say when those days come back, I'll have get my continuing education credits an hour at a time.
Which brings us to Friday and the end of the week. I hope your coming week is a great one!
