My Week That Was - September 5

We started the week with a trip to see family in Indiana.  One place we visited was the shop connected with "Two Chicks and a Hammer."

That's how Mina and Karen refer to themselves on the HGTV home remodel/rebuilding show named Good Bones.  They're a mother and daughter who purchase old and decrepit properties then transform them into homes that beautify their neighborhoods.

As these programs go - it's pretty good.  Karen and Mina are relatable and fun.  When my wife heard they had a shop, it became a place we had to visit.

"District Co." is a boutique with home accessories, furniture, and t-shirts and items to appeal to fans of the show who want a little piece of Good Bones for themselves.  It's open Thursday through Sunday in Indianapolis' Bates - Hendricks neighborhood.

There are paintings on sale used as decor in some of the homes remodeled on Good Bones, which will cost a bit more than the Indianapolis themed posters they also have on display.

While in town we ate at McAllister's which we don't have in Wisconsin.  I enjoyed the Roast Beef sandwich with horseradish.  We tried Freddy's Steakburgers (good) and capped off one evening with a treat from the Old Custard Stand (excellent).

After a couple days away from home and my regular exercise routine - I was back at it on Monday.  It's pretty dark at 5:30 in the morning these days.  While there's enough ambient light to see where I'm going, there's a good chance I'm not too visible.  So, I'm carrying a light and being extra careful when there is traffic on streets I'm crossing.

We had our first overnight low below 50 for the first time since June Tuesday morning.  It was brisk and carried a strong hint of autumn in the air.

That was followed with an even cooler overnight Thursday when it hit 45.

I'm sure we'll see the upper 80s or 90s one more time this year; but it's a clear indication we better enjoy the summer flowers and summer days every chance we get.

My last week of the Marketing course associated with the Voice Over instruction I've taken since last October.  Now it's time to use what I learned.

Just one bike ride this week, but I hit the streets early today to stretch my legs to start of the weekend.

It's a short-week coming up for many of us - be careful, keep your distance, and stay safe!
