Where Everybody Knows...

If you aren't careful, it is easy to sucked into the mire, gloom, and dire predictions because of the novel coronavirus.

It's important to pay attention and take all appropriate action to stay safe and keep your family, neighbors, and co-workers safe to be sure.

We also need to get away.  I try to take in the news in small doses and have a virtual or other place to escape.

Which is why I like going where Everybody Knows Your Name...

Making your way in the world today
Takes everything you got
Taking a break from all your worries
It sure would help a lot
Wouldn't you like to get away?
The opening verse of Cheers theme song builds after the first scene.  I join at a whisper, while a smile spreads across my face as the familiar tune continues.
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name
And they're always glad you came
You want to be where you can see
The troubles are all the same
You want to be where everybody knows your name
If you aren't smiling by this part, maybe your eyes are a little misty.
You want to go where people know
The people are all the same
You want to go where everybody knows your name.  written by Gary Portney Judy Hart-Angelo

I was in college when Cheers joined the Thursday night line-up on NBC, so didn't see much of it until graduating.  Thanks to Netflix, we're working our way through all 275 episodes.  I just finished with season two, back when TV series were 20 episodes.

Sam, Diane, Coach, Carla, Norm, and Cliff are good companions.  They are especially good when it seems like life is fraying around you.  The stories and humor are an antidote when no antidote is at hand.

Cheers might not be your mug of beer.  I encourage you to find a touchstone where you can go and everybody knows your name.
