Wisconsin Lights - Pilot Island

The closest I've got to the Pilot Island Lighthouse was maybe two miles while taking the car ferry out to Washington Island from the tip of Door County, Wisconsin.

Since I've put together a PowerPoint of all the lights, I realized this one never got its own blog.

When I took this shot - it was with a 200 meter lens while moving over water.  The tall structure near the center of land is the lighthouse.

It was built in 1858 at the highest point, estimated to be 11 feet above the waves.  You can read more at its Lighthouse Friends page.
