Packers - Half way home

Go Pack, Go!        dwm photo 1/10/2010
Eight games into a sixteen game season the Green Bay Packers have won seven.  That's the definition of a great start.

They beat the Cowboys in Dallas; took care of business at home against the Raiders and Lions; then went into Kansas City Sunday night where they got a big win over the Chiefs.

Over the last four games, the offense seems to have found its center.

The running backs are a big part of the passing game, which is especially important with Davante Adams recovering from a foot injury.

The defense is tested.  It bent a lot, but made big plays or got big stops when necessary.

It's safe to say they've exceeded expectations and the loftiest predictions.

The next four games stretch into December.  They play Sunday in Los Angeles where Packer fans may outnumber Charger fanatics.  They return to Green Bay for a home date against Carolina. Then play two on the road - in San Francisco against the currently undefeated 49ers then fly to New York December 1st to play the Giants.

Before the season, I predicted this quarter to be perfect for the Pack, after losing three of the first eight.  Since then the 49ers have been the best NFC team, so that game may be closer than I first thought, it can go either way.

7 - 1 beats 5 - 3 any day of the week, so the Packers have outperformed what I expected.  So, let's ride that wave to no fewer than 10 wins at the end of their game against New York.

Go Pack, Go!

Since this post goes live October 29, it is the perfect time to wish my sister a Happy Birthday!
