On Vacation

We're back from vacation.

It was quite an adventure traveling along Lakes Huron and Michigan which included stops at more than 25 lighthouses; 3 covered bridges; and accumulated a lot of stories.

More than 2,800 miles driven, but the car was parked for nearly a week.  There were meals in restaurants, but also several made in our kitchen.

I'm sure it was the longest vacation I've ever taken, other than two stretches of unemployment (not a vacation).

Lighthouses on the east coast of Wisconsin were our first stops after breakfast at Walker's in Beaver Dam.  Kewaunee, Algoma, Baileys Harbor, and Sturgeon Bay were stops on day one.

You could find us in the Dixie Saloon in Mackinaw City after a long drive on day two just in time to watch Green Bay beat the Vikes.

Day three was busy.  Eight lighthouse stops as we drove along Lake Huron before crossing Michigan to Traverse City.

The next day we drove 20 miles north to our home away from home for eight days and seven nights.
