My Week That Was - October 19

Packers played Monday night, which has a two-fold impact on my week.

First, with no game on Sunday the fall routine is disrupted.  Instead of rushing home from church and Bible Study, there is time for an extra errand.  Some folks use Packer-free Sundays for yard work.  I can't imagine!

Second, there is an extra day to wait before they play - I bet the players don't like their routine interrupted either.

It wasn't easy, but the Packers found their way to a victory, taking the lead after the clock hit 0:00.  I think it is the kind of win you need in a special season.  This team is demonstrating some grit and camaraderie that's not been apparent in several seasons, but winning will do that.

Green Bay is 5 - 1 with Oakland coming into Lambeau tomorrow. Go Pack, Go!

Wednesday evening, we shared our story of living in a Michigan Lighthouse and photos of some of the dozens of lights we've seen the last few years.  It was amazing.  Thanks to the people of Waunakee and the Waunakee Public Library for inviting us.  45 people came to the community room to hear stories about Light House Keeping and several stuck around after to talk some more.

Thankfully, my cough and cold went into a bit of remission and I was able to speak for nearly an hour without any coughing spells.  The cold caught me at the start of the week and the misery index was high Monday night into Tuesday.  Wednesday improved quite a bit and I found that sipping hot water and sucking on honey cough drop was a big help.

It was blast sharing our stories and pictures and it seems that people enjoyed the show.  Several guests are avid lighthouse fans, one woman told us she's been to 146!

Thursday was the day for an office tradition.  Each October, a bunch of us walk down the street to Panera for lunch, noticing the changing leaves during our conversation.  Nine of us made the trip, ate, and back to the office before 1.

Friday including a different event as the Foundation hosted new residents on Oakwood's Prairie Ridge campus.  It was designed to say hello and provide some information about our role on campus.  We were blessed with a good turnout and had several great conversations.

It was a busy week.  I am ready for the weekend.
