Happy Mother's Day

The first Mother's Day was in 1908 when a woman in West Virginia held a memorial service for her mom.

In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the day should always be celebrated with expensive brunches and over-priced flowers the second Sunday of May.

OK, OK, the section about how to celebrate today don't belong to President Wilson.  I think my mom would laugh at that.

There are a lot of ways to honor our mom and grandmothers - a crayon drawing; a small bouquet of Dandelions; a dozen Roses; or that expensive brunch you made reservations for in February.

However you celebrate your mom - the best way is with a personal touch.  Make it less about stuff, more about substance.  Help Mom, Grandmother, Godmother, or Aunt by doing some chores or chatting in the living room.

She will appreciate it.  You will be happy you took the time and effort to do it.

Happy Mother's Day!
