They didn't play all that poorly but had a horrible day shooting the ball. You can't win if you don't put it in the basket.
For the last week, pundits and a service used by the NCAA committee to rank the teams showed the Badgers as a 4 seed - meaning somewhere between 13 - 16 overall.
Instead they were 5th - which matches them with a 12 seed.
Wisconsin had a good year. They finished fourth in the conference and are back in the "Big Dance" again after missing for the first time in 20 years last season. That's progress.
They looked real good early in the conference season, but are subject to shooting slumps. Their defense is real good, but that's not enough. Which is why I have high hopes, but low expectations for the Badgers this go-round. I have them beating Oregon in their Friday game then shown the door by 4 seed Kansas State in the second round.
